The Scheme provides an integrated approach for converging basic services through community-based workers and helpers through a package of the following services:


Services Target Group Services Through
Supplementary Nutritional Support (Includes child growth monitoring and promotion) Children below 6 years; pregnant and lactating mothers AWW
Pre-School Education Children 3-6 years AWW
Nutrition & Health Education Women (15-45 years) AWW, FNB, Health
Immunization Children below 6 years; pregnant and lactating mothers ANM / AWW / ASHA
Health Check-up Children below 6 years; pregnant and lactating mothers ANM / AWW / ASHA
Referral Children below 6 years; pregnant and lactating mothers ANM / AWW / ASHA


The last three services are related to health and are provided in convergence with the Ministry/Department of Health and Family Welfare through NRHM and Health system.

About IAP HealthPhone

An initiative of HealthPhone™, conducted under the aegis of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, in partnership with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, UNICEF, Aamir Khan and with support from Vodafone.

The objective of this nationwide campaign against malnutrition is to address issues of status of women, the care of pregnant mothers and children under two, breastfeeding and the importance of balanced nutrition and health. The focus is on women between 13 and 35 years of age and their family members.
